This body protector is lightweight and approved to BETA 2018 Standard Level 3.
- Conforms with current safety regulations.
- Childs EN13158 BETA Level 3 panelled body protector.
- Separate lightweight shock absorbing foam panels mould around the body to give a close fit.
- The air mesh outer with bright contrast binding and reflective piping on front and back is a stand out design feature.
- Finished with red fitting indicators to ensure correct fit and protection on every ride out.
HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT SIZE - How to measure yourself to choose the correct size body protector. Measurements should be taken over lightweight, tight fitting clothing. These measurements will then allow the correct size to be selected by using the measurement chart that is featured in the image gallery above.
A - Chest measurement:
- Place a soft tape measure over the fullest part of the chest circumference.
B - Over the shoulder measurement:
- Measure from 1” below your ribs at the front, over the shoulder and down to level at the back.
C - Back measurement:
- Start level with the shoulders at vertebrae C7 (the prominent one at the base of the neck) and measure down to where the body protector will finish.
HOW TO FIT - Once you receive your body protector follow the below how to fit guide. You will need to try the body protector on in the saddle or on a saddle horse.
- The foam may seem a bit stiff at first but, after five minutes, body heat will warm the foam up and allow it to mould to your shape.
- The front of the body protector should reach the top of the sternum (breastbone) and at the back fit up to the prominent bone (vertebrae C7) at the base of the neck.
- The front should not be less than 25mm below the ribcage.
- The body protector must fit snugly all the way round the torso.
- The rear bottom edge of the body protector should not touch the saddle when mounted. There should be a minimum gap of at least 7cm.
- The velcro fastenings should be fastened with no red indictors showing. If these are exposed once the garment has been fitted, it shows that the garment does not fit correctly and a larger size should be tried.
We always advise to check with relevant governing bodies for current safety standard regulations as they can change.
